ってな内容。日本なら、メールを追跡されたら呪われちゃうんだけど、欧米だとお金がもらえたり、寄付になったりするんだな。国民性の違いかな。この内容が本当なら、Microsoftの新型メールシステムとゲイツの財布はあっという間にパンクするでしょうね。
楽に金を儲ける方法なんてありゃしませんよ。はぁ。

I thought this was a scam myself, but two weeks
after receiving this e-mail and forwarding it on,
Microsoft contacted me for my address and
within days, I received a cheque for US$24,800.00.
You need to respond before the beta testing is over.
If anyone can afford this Bill Gates is the man.
It's all marketing expense to him. Please forward
this to as many people as possible. You are bound
to get at least US$10,000.00. We're not going to
help them out with their e-mail beta test without
getting a little something for our time. My brother's
girlfriend got in on this a few months ago. When I
went to visit him for the Baylor/UT game. She
showed me her check. It was for the sum of
$4,324.44 and was stamped "Paid In Full". Like I
said before, I know the law, and this is for real.

Intel and AOL are now discussing a merger which
would make them the largest Internet company
and in an effort make sure that AOL remains the
most widely used program, Intel and AOL are
running an e-mail beta test.

When you forward this e-mail to friends, Intel can
and will track it (if you are a Microsoft Windows
user) for a two week time period.

For every person that you forward this e-mail to,
Microsoft will pay you $203.15.

For every person that you sent it to that forwards
it on, Microsoft will pay you $156.29.

And for every third person that receives it, you will
be paid $17.65. Within two weeks, Intel will contact
you for your address and then send you a check.
I thought this was a scam myself, but a friend of my
good friend's Aunt Patricia, who works at Intel,
actually got a check of $4,543.23 by forwarding this e-mail.

Try it, what have you got to lose????

2001年9月11日の米国同時テロの後、アメリカのテロ報復反対・戦争反対の署名を呼びかけるチェーンメールが多発した。その結果、どうなったか。署名の送り先に指定されたメールアドレス unicwash@unicwash.org は、サーバへの負荷を回避するため、機能しないアドレスになっている。

そして、アメリカによるイラク攻撃が現実のものになりそうで、フランスが拒否権発動宣言とかしている現在、また署名を呼びかけるメールが来た。

このメールで、9.11のメールと同じ被害が起こるだろう。つまり、国連本部と米大統領のメールアドレスが使用できなくなる。国連の、ホワイトハウスのメールサーバがイカレたら、誰が責任を持つんだろう。インターネットは自己責任の世界と言う。ってことはメールを転送した人ひとり一人が、署名をメールボムとして送った責任を負うってことだよな。そこまで考えて、その覚悟でメールを転送してるんだろうな。これ、メールのテロだよ。

■ 戦争反対アピールを騙るイタズラ

なんだかいろんな内容がくっついているが、早い話が「戦争に抗議するため、毎日現地時間20時に、電灯を点滅させよう。そしてそれに合わせて音を鳴らそう」って呼びかけらしい。

まず「現地時間20時」がどこの時間を指すのかわからない。仮にワシントンDCだとして、日本では（次の日の）朝10時（World's Timeと念のためトラベルコちゃん海外旅行ガイドブックでも調べた）。この呼びかけの中心になっているらしい（その割にメールアドレスはアメリカのyahoo）トルコでは夜中の3時。明かりの点滅にあまり意味はなさそうだ。朝っぱらや夜中に音を鳴らすのは近所迷惑だよな。こんなお粗末な話で「世界世論」とやらを表明できるとでも思ってるのかね？ これは壮大なイタズラか何かかい？ ネットロアとかいって調子に乗ってるんじゃねぇぞ。

ダシに使われている坂本龍一や鶴田真由なんかはいい迷惑ですね。まあ、日頃の行いがアレだってことかも。

We invite artists and others around the world to gather on Moratorium
Day, March 5, in their local museums which exhibit ancient near eastern
art. In New York, this action will take place from 9:30 to 5:30 in the
Assyrian gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

We will respectfully draw with pencil on paper the art around
us, which was created as early as five thousand years ago in the land now
known as Iraq, where urban life and the written word originated.
Our goal is to call attention to all of the civilizations which have
flourished in Mesopotamia under so many names and cultures: Sumer,
Babylonia, Assyria, the Arab/Muslim Abbasid Empire and contemporary Iraq.

This is a peaceful vigil, made in protest against US foreign policy under
George W. Bush. If someone asks what we are doing, we will speak quietly
with them and explain our position, then continue to draw. We will keep in
mind the intention:  to pay homage to this land, culture and people, which
our government is planning to destroy. We are deeply concerned about an
imminent threat to human life, and to the memory and history embedded
in all of Mesopotamia, modern Iraq.

いよいよ戦争が始まりそうなことに胸を痛めつつ、今回の反戦関係チェーンメールを読み返してみた。

03-11分に「現地時間20時」がどこの時間を指すのかわからない。と書いたが、英文をよくよく読んだらat 20:00 pm local timeとある。つまり（あなたの住んでいる）地域の20:00ってことだね。24時間表記なのに「pm」が付いているのは謎だけど。

ともかく、勘違いしてました。すみません。

でも、この内容が信ずるに足りないイタズラレベルの話だってことには変わりがないし、チェーンメールだってことも変わりがない。この“反戦（？）運動”、やりたければどうぞご自由に。でも、俺には自己満足にしか思えないし、近所迷惑だと思うけどね。

あと、03-10分について。そんなに署名がしたいなら、チェーンメールでするんじゃなくて、ちゃんとした署名サイトとかを使うといいですよ。正当性なき米国のイラク攻撃への日本政府の実質的支持の撤回要請についてとかはちゃんとしてそうかな。風邪気味で調子悪いので細かく調べられないけど、ほかにも「イラク　反戦　署名」とかで検索すればいくらでも出てくるでしょうから、自分で探してくださいね。

【2003-03-20】ついでに。2chに【抗議】反戦チェーンメール・スパム収集【署名】なんてスレができてる。こちらに掲載しているものの他にも色々あるみたいだね。

iモードの方からタレコミ。ありがとう。そろそろ反戦関係のメールは落ち着いたのかな。こちらのアクセス数も減ってるし。

さて本題。5人に転送しないと結果に影響がある心理テスト。それも87.5％の確率で「当たる」。なにがおかしいのか、わかりますよね。メールを転送しなかったことで結果が変わったら正しくテストしているとはいえないし、そもそも心理テストは「当たる」ものじゃない。
