■ 戦争反対アピールを騙るイタズラ

なんだかいろんな内容がくっついているが、早い話が「戦争に抗議するため、毎日現地時間20時に、電灯を点滅させよう。そしてそれに合わせて音を鳴らそう」って呼びかけらしい。

まず「現地時間20時」がどこの時間を指すのかわからない。仮にワシントンDCだとして、日本では（次の日の）朝10時（World's Timeと念のためトラベルコちゃん海外旅行ガイドブックでも調べた）。この呼びかけの中心になっているらしい（その割にメールアドレスはアメリカのyahoo）トルコでは夜中の3時。明かりの点滅にあまり意味はなさそうだ。朝っぱらや夜中に音を鳴らすのは近所迷惑だよな。こんなお粗末な話で「世界世論」とやらを表明できるとでも思ってるのかね？ これは壮大なイタズラか何かかい？ ネットロアとかいって調子に乗ってるんじゃねぇぞ。

ダシに使われている坂本龍一や鶴田真由なんかはいい迷惑ですね。まあ、日頃の行いがアレだってことかも。

今も昔も世の中の流れは、ある一部の思惑によって動かされ続けるのでしょうか。
どうにかそれに対抗できる行動はきっとあるはずです。

今回、米国で自動小銃で警護する歩哨に許可を得て会議場に入り、英国で戦車に乗っ
て警備をする兵士を横目に飛行機に乗り、やりきれない思いでした。世の中に「良い
戦争」というものはないかもしれませんが、この戦争はあまりにも不必要です。深瀬

作曲家の高橋悠治さん、坂本龍一さんから鶴田真由さんを経由して送られてきまし
た。

戦争をやめさせます！

ブッシュ政権は核兵器の使用権限も得ています。私たちは大きな災害の間際にいま
す。
この悲劇を止めることができるのは世界世論だけです。世界の戦争に反対するすべて
の人々による共同で継続的な行動を呼びかけます。

この行動はとても簡単なのです。毎晩現地時間20時にそのときいる場所の・家の・オ
フィスの・事業所の・車の電気を１分間点滅させます。そして同時に口笛やホイッス
ルやクラクションや鍋やフライパンで暗闇に音を与えます。私たちの抗議を見せ、聞
かせるために。

「私が一人で何ができるのでしょうか？」と考えている何百万人もの人をこの行動に
呼び寄せ、何百万戸もの家の電気が蛍のように点滅するには、行動を広めることが必
要です。添付している呼びかけ分を広め、すべての宛先に送っていただけるようお願
いいたします。メディア的な電灯点滅行動を企画してください。貴方のもっとも有名

WE SHALL STOP THE WAR!

Bush has obtained authorization to use nuclear arms. We are on the verge of
a major disaster. The only power which can prevent this tragedy is that of
the world public. We call on all thosepeople all over the world who are
against war to join forces in JOINT and CONTINUOUS action.

The action is very simple: Every night at 20:00 pm local time, we will flick
lights on and off for one minute whereever we are, be it our home, office or
car. And at the same time, we will make the darkness reverberate with the
sound of our whistles, horns and pots and pans to make others see and hear
our protest.
If we can spread the word of this action, millions of people who say "What
can I do by myself?" will get involved and the lights of millions of houses
flicker like fireflies. Please circulate the appeal ATTACHED to this e-mail
and send it to as many people as you can. Announce and endorse this action
in the February 15th demonstrations in your countries. Organize special
events where lights will be turned off to get press and TV coverage. Have TV
channels broadcast your most popular writers, artists, stars flicking their
lights on and off to participate in the campaign. Have trade unions,
professional chambers and organizations, non-governmental organizations call
their members to participate in the action...

We invite artists and others around the world to gather on Moratorium
Day, March 5, in their local museums which exhibit ancient near eastern
art. In New York, this action will take place from 9:30 to 5:30 in the
Assyrian gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

We will respectfully draw with pencil on paper the art around
us, which was created as early as five thousand years ago in the land now
known as Iraq, where urban life and the written word originated.
Our goal is to call attention to all of the civilizations which have
flourished in Mesopotamia under so many names and cultures: Sumer,
Babylonia, Assyria, the Arab/Muslim Abbasid Empire and contemporary Iraq.

This is a peaceful vigil, made in protest against US foreign policy under
George W. Bush. If someone asks what we are doing, we will speak quietly
with them and explain our position, then continue to draw. We will keep in
mind the intention:  to pay homage to this land, culture and people, which
our government is planning to destroy. We are deeply concerned about an
imminent threat to human life, and to the memory and history embedded
in all of Mesopotamia, modern Iraq.

Please spread the word to everyone you know anywhere who is an artist
or a lover of art! If this action takes place in other cities, please let us
know all about it, and if you have pictures, we would love to see them.
