Yokoさんから「知らない海外の人から届いた」とタレコミ。送ってきた海外の人は友達がいなかったのかな。ともかくありがとう。

うんざりするほど長いので、要点だけざっというと、

「5分以内に10人にメールを転送すれば、『自分の歳×分』後に、願いがかなう。転送しないといつまでも不幸になる」

ってことらしい。面倒くさいから今回は超訳も載せない。でも、20歳の Katie は願いがかなうまで1時間20分かかってるぞ。みんなチェックだ。

ところで、「オーストラリア版不幸の手紙」でもそうだったけど、なぜ英文のチェーンメールは経験談が先にあるんだろう。日本の文章なら、まず概要が先だよな。しゃべる言語によって思考法が違うのだろうか、興味深い。

I'm 13 years old, and I wished that my dad would come home from the army, 
because he'd been having problems with his heart and right leg.

the doorbell rang, and there my Dad was, luggage and all!!
